Microsoft is being completely misleading,

Features like Mesh shaders and DirectX ray tracing are features of DirectX Ultimate.

They did not say that the XBOX Series X/S are the  only consoles that support all RDNA2 features.

They said that the XBOX Series X/S are the only consoles the support all the RDNA features SHOWCASED HERE TODAY!

It is ludicrous to believe that Sony would accept some dumbed down, feature lacking version of RDNA 2 when the PS5 and RDNA 2 desktop GPUs were being developed at the same time.

Fact of the matter is that both consoles are based on RDNA 2.

Sony have already confirmed most of these features, but using different terminology.

The only one they haven't talked about is sampler feedback, but just because they haven't mentioned it yet doesn't mean their hardware doesn't support it.

But we know that the PS5 can flawlessly use virtual texturing with 8K textures. It was used in the Unreal 5 demo.

All sampler feedback streaming does is boost the efficiency of virtual texturing.

While true this is a bit disingenuous, while the ps5 lacks sampler feedback streaming and it's still unknown if it has mesh shading it actually has an RDNA 3 feature in the form of its geometry engine, which Sony more or less appear to have fully designed for AMD. I'm getting the series X for game pass and Xbox live but Microsoft have gotten a little buzz wordy of late, it doesn't matter what features a console has if developers dont use them. The ps5 SSD will not be used fully by 3rd party Devs and neither will all parts of the XSX GPU for years and when they do they will come up with clever work arounds for other platforms as they have done for years. Honestly this spec war crap needs to end, who cares what spec a console is, the switch runs an average mobile SoC from 2015 and I've had some of the most fun I've ever had playing videos on it.if you care about specs buy a PC, if your stuck between Xbox and ps5, wait for one of them to have 3-4 games you need or if you cant, get some overtime, cut back on take away etc and buy both.

dumb statement. PS5 is the only one with dualsense, praised as the biggest ever advancement in controllers. Or... which console has the best looking games on it?  Or.... multiplatform games are running better on PS5 than XSX and loading much faster.

All these truths are from multiple sources. Nice shilling attempt, though!  So take your 12TF and RDNA2 and  stick it where the sun don't shine, cos it sure as heck ain't making MS make better games! Or indeed, any games except old a** 2008 games on backwards compatibility haha

I doubt this article is accurate. Which of these feature exactly is the PS not going to have?

"DirectX" Raytracing. It'll have raytracing, using the same underlying hardware, but with a different brand name.

This is all marketing bullshittery and the article lapped it up.

Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Series X and Series S will be the only consoles that will support all the features of the new RDNA 2 architecture, the same one on which AMD has based its new Radeon RX 6000 cards. These features include DirectX Raytracing, Mesh Shading and Variable Rate Shading (VRS). The Xbox Series X and Series S will arrive next month.
