I really, really wanted to like this phone, but I don't.
I purchased this to replace my Samsung S7 Active due to it's ratings and specifications. I need a rugged, durable phone.
Some of the issues are with the OS, which is not the phone's fault, but here is the list of the issues I have with it:

Poor reception. This is a phone, first and foremost and it's not doing it. In places where my old Samsung had one or two bars of reception, this thing doesn't have signal. Even at home, with a cell booster that always worked with all my other phones, this one loses signal frequently. When talking on the phone and the reception is low or poor, the calls become very digital sounding and just cut out randomly.
The network operates on 2G, 3G and LTE, no 4G or anything else. And as far as I can tell, it doesn't seem to switch back and forth between them well. Even my 4 years old Samsung had 4G, seriously, 4 years old and it's better than this one! I live and work in rural areas. This phone is supposed to be rugged and work out in the field ...well it doesn't.

No headphone jack! Seriously? This is supposed to be a work phone and many times on job sites I still need a headset. You have to buy a USB to headphone jack adaptor for that, one more thing to stick out of the phone and you can't charge it at the same time. Whatever, I can get over this if the phone would actually have reception.

The camera's HDR feature performs poorly in low lighting, also it's 12MP??? Seriously, in 2023 you could even break 20MP?

My biggest annoyance with it is the OS though. Its google heavy Android is annoying as hell. At least Samsung would give you the option to turn off features and updates. Google is all controlling. You're getting updates even if you don't want them.
Oh and the pointless Google assistant at the top of the home screen can be disabled, but it NEVER goes away! It just sits there mocking you and telling you it's disabled and you should turn it back on. Screw you Google Assistant!
Everything tries to sync to Google and back-up, update, and notify you. Took hours to go through everything and turn as much off as I could.
Another annoyance is the notifications, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I won't get a new Outlook email notification for hours at times, same even with Gmail.
The last annoyance is the sleep screen. Samsung figured this out, when sleeping, show a clock, because it barely uses battery and it's useful. This phone doesn't do that, only will do it if it's in charge or a cradle?? Regardless, when you select both, still doesn't show normally.
Since I've spent a fair bit of money on this thing I'm stuck with it, but I don't like it and the cell reception is one of the biggest issues since I live and work in rural and remote places.
For a work phone, huge screw up CAT!
Will not get another.

Too right.  Someone threw mine across the road and a car ran over it.  Still in 100% condition, looks perfect.  You can't have it all ways - the phone comes with a lot of apps that anyone who plays Roblox all day will never need - buy a different phone for games.  I id'd all the leaky spots on my house with the FLIR and managed to prove that new built houses are woefully underinsulated.

The s62 pro actually sucks and I'm highly disappointed.they took out a bunch of features that they should have left in from the s62 like qi charging and down graded the regular camera to straight garbage just to put in the flir camera that freezes.

This phone is just rubbish. If you want a good rugged phone with a thermal camera and a better price as well as more ram 8gb (6gb of the cat is just too low!) Then do yourself a favor and get the blackview bv9900 pro. It's a lot better phone at a way more reasonable price!

- No, that's not true. The S61 (the predecessor) offered the highest IP ratings, S61 has IP69K, the highest one. the S62 only has IP68.

The IP rating includes the lower numbers only up to IPx6. This is no problem for IP68 because x8 is worse for an object than all the numbers below.

With IP6K9K or IP69 (IP69K is made up) you have a high temperature and high pressure water jet from all directions BUT no immersion!
IP69 is primarily ment for construction equipment to clean eg with steam cleaner.

In the company I work, we actually have problems with false expectations from our customers coming from this confusion... Every month we have to explane this difference to our sales again, thats why I know this so good.  :'(

I hope my S61 will last until the S63 launches. I would love the new FLIR, but they made too many sacrifices for style with the S62 Pro.

How can a smartphone that is supposed to be waterproof not have wireless charging in 2020?? I'll stick with my Kyocera with Verizon service. I used to be a CAT fanboi too 😔

I had an S60 and S61, but I switched to a Blackview BV9900 Pro after looking at the S62. My BV9900 Pro is better than the S62 in almost every way, except for the FLIR which is the same spec as the S61

Being a longtime CAT lover, i thought my comments here could be of use.
In my opinion, till today, best phone in the lineup was s41. Although s60 and s61 (which i own) have far superior gps antenna, which is very useful for offline use.
They withstand much more than usual phones and water of any kind, aint a problem ever. For me the biggest downside is absence of physical buttons
under the screen. Because of that, i will never buy s62 and if need presents,
then another s61. It also has battery (4500mah) although s41 has even bigger one (5000mah). With mediocre use, i got 3 days out of s41, 2 days with s61 and as reviews show, only one day for s62.
