Well, it doesn't have a foldable display. Which makes it a completely different beast. Yes, it does fold. But it folds more like a convertible laptop then something like Galaxy Z Fold. It can have conventional screen construction with "hard glass." And it lacks the continuous screen. There is a division right down the middle. Which is going to severely restrict usefulness. You either need an application specifically designed for this form factor that can utilize two screens. Question being, does it actually appreciably improve my experience? Or you need two applications side by side. In my opinion, that's too restrictive. Perhaps you're going to use one screen as a keyboard? Given how many people watch videos and play games on their phones, looking at it makes me think "what?" It could make an interesting e-book reader as it looks like a book. I think a Kindle in this form factor could be neat. But I'm not sold on it as a phone. To me, it's not a competitor to Z Fold. It's just this weird thing living in it's own world. It's the continuous screen that's the big deal. And this just doesn't have it.

Although repairing the dual-display Microsoft Surface Duo can easily turn into a nightmare and it is not an easy task even for experienced people, the good news is that this piece of hardware is quite unlikely to break. According to the JerryRigEverything's torture test, the Surface Duo is surprisingly rugged.
