I own neither previous gen console despite being old(!), and this or the xBox could be my first.  But there does seem to be a lot of PlayStation bias on this site.  Is this the norm, or is the ps5 just regarded as the better console?

It's the norm. There's generally an anti-Microsoft bias especially from left-leaning sites such as NBC who seem to regard them as part of the old guard "patriarchy" along with IBM, Oracle etc. The younger tech giants such as Google, Facebook etc (Apple though old has always been the cool kid therefore timeless) are viewed more favorably. In gaming, Sony is a cool kid.

Microsoft releasing the price of the Xbox Series S now is a smart move on their part. Sony has to respond soon and are in a tight position. If Sony chooses to release only the price of the PS5 digital edition first, Microsoft will be able to easily judge an attractive price point for the Series X.

Quite frankly i'm surprised Sony is threatened by the price of the Series X given how dominant the PS4 was over the One. Hopefully, this game of cat and mouse will soon come to an end.

Less on bias and more on reporting on every rumor. Including from known unreliable tipster.

Hell, thanks to reporting on every rumor, this site have more article on PS5 than PS5 reddit page.

Well, Sony being highly secretive on PS5 kinda fuels the speculation and this site revels on it.

Doritos, 4chan, Soony, and a parody song: PlayStation 5 waiting fatigue has really started kicking in hard, just as a likely controlled leak from Microsoft has given up the potential prices of the Xbox Series X and S. But to paraphrase a famous movie line, this exhausting wait for the full PS5 details and prices may end up being the greatest trick Sony ever pulled.
