Yellowgrenade, a valid point. I jailbroke my 3 after the scene had developed a little and it worked without too much hassle.
I'm upgrading one of my 4's to a 1TB hdd to help with game storage in the future. I'm looking forward to a jail break that will allow me to store the games I have so I won't have to stress the drive out when playing games. That's pretty much why I modded the 3. That and homebrew apps. 😊
The PSN is not a big thing for me. If I want to use it (for some strange reason) that's what I have the other one for... I never did much with it for the 3. Did download some stuff for the Vita, but that's about it.
I'll be keeping an eye on this to see how it develops

I jailbroke my PS3 years ago when the Geohotz 3.15 exploit was around,...but I wouldn't dream of going back to that kind of hassle!

Took a lot of reading to figure out how to jailbreak it properly, to avoid bricking it and then once it's all done and dusted, you have to depend on torrents to get your games, and they usually have pretty low seeds, so it takes ages to download the game, and it'll take longer this time round because PS4 games are muxhh bigger these days, often nearing the 100GB mark. Then you finally download it and get it on your hard drive, and you're still not guaranteed that it'll actually work, since certain games just don't seem to work, other games need a certain firmware to be compatible etc etc.

But if it does work, fine, great, you can play the game, but because you can't connect to PSN, you can't play the game online, not can you get updates for the game, which is an issue in this day and age when there's so many bugs and glitches in games so you really need those patches.

I don't think jailbreaking a PS4 is gunna be any less annoying than the previous console,....it's way too much hassle just to get a game for free. Wouldn't recommend it personally. It's all just more of a headache than it's worth.

Be glad, PlayStation 4 owners; a new jailbreak is on the way. Developer @theflow0 has now announced the existence of a kernel exploit on PS4 running firmware 7.02 or older. The kernel exploit currently has to be chained with a firmware 6.72 WebKit exploit.
