I picked up the V40 a little over a year ago and it is hands down one of the best phones I've owned and up there with my Note 9 as a favorite. It's proven to be an underrated, feature-filled, powerhouse that has a camera/video/audio set up that is second to none. It checks all the right boxes for me.

I was a Samsung fan for a LONG time. I had the S3, S5, Note 7 (that was fun) then had to swap to an S7 & an S9 Plus. I work at Verizon and they gave me the V40 as my work phone... I thought it was going to hardly get use...I was sooooo wrong. It became my daily driver quick compared to the Galaxy S9 Plus. I absolutlyloved the display, sound, and really miss its large flat screen. Internet based apps and games just seemed to run better on the V40 over my Samsung S9 Plus. The battery life was the same as my Galaxy S9 Plus. When Verizon swapped the V40 out with a different phone was bummed out. I got another LG (G8) but I miss the size and sound quality of the V40. Best phone I have ever had !!!

I've been with LG for 6years now. I still have the V30 and works perfectly. Been using it for almost 2.5yrs. People just up Samsung and Apple's buttholes. Take your head out and explore better options.

For what it's worth,these are all the same reasons that make the V40 the best used/refurbished phone you can buy right now.  A reconditioned V40 on Amazon will cost less than $240... That's 20% to 60% cheaper than it's peers (the same ones mentioned in this article).  And it Is A phenomenal phone.

LG G7 ThinQ Plus & the V40 was released with a 6/128 GB variant in India. They were one of the most underrated flagships released in India. I use the G7 in 2020 and is every bit better when it comes to be compared with the exynos based s9 and s9+ or for that matter many of the recent phones. The hifi dac is a must for audiophiles. Though the g7's camera could have been better. V40 was much better. Too bad they killed the G series and never really released the subsequent series in it's full capacity the next year outside Korea.

The best sounding smartphone out there! The choice of audiophiles that don't want/need to spend for a separate $500 to $4K personal audio device. Use with some reasonable quality headphones and BOOM!

Reminds me of  story about high-end RCA hookup cables. Like the $400/pair audiophile kind. Story goes that guy swears he can hear the difference between cheap ones. Engineers instrument it and prove that there is absolutely no electronic/electrical difference. Guy still swears that he can hear the difference. Then they set up a blind test and had the guy, and about twenty other "audiophiles" all do blind A/B testing of the $400 wire vs the $10 wire. When the results came back they had chosen the $10 wire in over 80% of the listeners. Case in point - all of these reviews are a waste of time unless someone does a blind test. It is all one big pile of media bias and payoffs over nits in design and capability that are nearly impossible to measure.

I joined the LG lineup back with the Samsung Note 7 debacle. I had initially moved over to the Samsung Galaxy 7, but hated the curved edges. It's a, major reason why I haven't gone back to Samsung. But then I got a V20. It was a fairly good phone, really good camera, and excellent sound system. When it came time to upgrade I was with the V40. And haven't looked back. And about that triple camera setup: you completely glossed over how everyone made fun of the phone coming out with 5 cameras, at the time. My wife had a horrible experience with LG back with the G 4 bootloop issues, and had to be persuaded to come back to LG after having gone on to Asus' ZenFones. The V40's a little bit for her hands, but she's loved it. I'll privacy stick with LG for my next upgrade, as I've not been steered wrong yet.

Just to add, I did have V40 and l like the phone but LG as a company needs to change their approach or be left behind.  Everyone always wants the greatest and the latest, that's hardware and software.

I was an LG fan for a long time until I switched to OnePlus(Best phone in the world).  LG's slow software updates did me in.  I was tired of having a great phone with 2 or 3 versions behind other flagships.  Once I tried ONEPLUS 7 PRO I was sold.  I will never go back to LG.

Had the v40 thin Q loved the phone. Was on a friends friends and family plan at Sprint, when I opened my own account the sprint employee started pushing a new phone on me the Samsung A50, telling me what a great phone it was and how much I would like it. Worst phone I ever had in my life I want my V40 back.

The quad dac in the V40 is not just competitive, it is hands down the best audio dac in a phone. Also the V40 has a built in amp, it can power big headphone such as the HD600 or Fostex X00 with ease. And concerning the small battery, it also means a smaller body. The battery lasts enough on medium brightness. The V40 is underrated because the review industry are a bunch of sell outs promoting the big companies.

Je suis utilisateur de lg depuis le g4 et je n ai jamais eu de soucis avec l un d entre eux
On se plein de sa batterie alors que les s9 de samsung souffraient des mêmes soucis de batterie life
Et cela nous ramène a la raison pour laquelle lg a fermé ses portes en france ( mauvais article sur ses produirs à chaque sortie)
A croire qu il le font volontairement

This is typical, LG releases great phones,
initial reviews have an agenda, anything not apple/samsung is not good, anything straying from that is bad.

I got the G8x, best phone purchase in a long time. Very satisfied.
