Very positive news from Lenovo. Only seems logical when almost 2/3 of the servers they sell are running Linux. Support on Thinkpads makes it easier for developers. 2 reasons i'm buying Thinkpads are 1) Linux support 2) trackpoint. I have a Thinkpad X1 Tablet, Ubuntu runs fast and i'm more comfortable with the 3:2 screen ratio than the silly 16:9.

0.0% chance of me buying any computer that doesn't have a trackpoint.  They are awkward at first but a really smart way to integrate pointing and typing. Thinkpad is a fantastic line, with real roots in design to the start of notebook days, when Lenovo tried to mess with it their consumers let them know. They are strictly function dictates form, except for concessions to fashion on a few of their models. 16:10 would be nice, hopefully some competition will bring it about.

Good news. This will also ensure their hardware is well compatible with linux (which is usually the case anyway, but not always)
