@Astar: The AltStore method has held strong for a while. The benefit is that it doesn't rely on getting new Enterprise licenses to install apps. But yes, I think everyone is just waiting for the day when it will no longer work.

@Hans8799jkal: Sideloading apps has technically been available since iOS 7 let you install your own IPA files, but the issue is that the process is clunky, and apps expire after 7 days with a free user license. Apple is also fairly draconian on what you can or cannot install.
Yes, AltStore has been around since mid- to late-2019, but this feature (sideloading through AltStore) is new for non-Patrons. In other words, it's now freely available to everyone, which is something new with v1.3, which was released April 10th. So yes, this is a new process for the vast majority of AltStore users and even more iPhone users.
Also, you don't have to redo the install process. You simply go into the AltStore app on your phone and tap the apps you want to refresh. As long as your AltServer instance is active and on the same network as your phone (e.g., at home), the process is seamless and wireless. Additionally, AltStore can even run in the background and automatically refresh apps.

Questionable article...Getting apps onto iOS devices via sideload without jailbreak is a very old story.Altstore is an old story too, since it is one of the only options for sideloads since the end of 2019. Here the whole thing is presented as the new procedure. That you have to redo the process every 7 days is still the same problem and you come here after half a year and sell it as if there is something new in the process.

Stupid Apple - still stupid with this AltStore system. It'll fail once Apple updates the whatever app developer license system rubbish!
