Does anyone know if this new update bricked your Gear S2. I have been cautious with updates since I found out all the problems associated with updates to Sammy's wearbles app. There were all sorts of problems with the UI since Sammy didn't participate in Android 10 One UI project. They were satisfied to wait it out and implement functionality when One UI 2.0 was developed. I just upgraded my S9 plus to Android 10 and in theory, I should be able to update my wearble app which will reset my gear S plug in, I have been okay with my current functionality of watch and phone interface. I have full use of my Samsung Health App, still have Samsung Pay and all the watch faces saved from the last Tizen update. My watch lasts on average a day and a quarter before needing to be charged. I also have the newer 4g version of the gear s2 on ATT. Bought on Ebay about a year ago and couldn't be happier. I still have all the functionality i wanted out of my watch. I still have people complement me on the watch (it's a timeless design for a smartwatch) Yeah so keep your new active watches with no tactile rotating bezel and don't attempt to brick mine. This may be a crazy theory.... but I couldn't help but notice soooooo mannnnnnnnnyyyyyy tech sites dedicating space to announce official news to update your aging S2 to help with battery life and *ahem* security patches....  I know better that you can only squeeze so much battery life out of old tech. IMO, the last Tizen update fixed the battery issues. Moving to the new galaxy active UI on the S2 sounds like Sammy is bricking them.... My soap box moment......

As of Feb 10th no update for my watch.  Is this being rolled out in phases?

After over four years since its release, Samsung is still supplying the Gear S2 smartwatch with software updates. The latest set not only offers significant battery life improvements but also deliver an improved and clean-looking UI.
