I have both the T420 version of the USB keyboard and the first version of the compact BT keyboard. The typing experience on the BT keyboard is tolerable, but not as good as the "T420" USB one. (Noting that the USB keyboard is the NMB version).

However, the biggest drawback with the BT keyboard is the TrackPoint driver. It is not the same driver used for the USB version, and it is not as good. It is clearly using a different feedback algorithm. You can clearly see this if you attempt to bounce the cursor into the top of the screen. The USB driver corrects for overshoot and bounces the cursor back, while with the BT driver the cursor just sticks at the edge.

Hopefully this has been corrected in this latest version of compact keyboard.

Hope the build quality is better than the previous model, it would be perfect if it is as good as in the laptops.
Stellar layout though.

1) I would like to see rwo trackpoints, one for each index finger.
2) Battery life appears to be short.  I have a wireless mouse and get amazing life out of its battery, life over a year.b

They should bring back old Thinkpad keyboards in their laptops. Keyboards up to T420 were joy to use. Instead they replaced it with a much worse one (especially the removal of 7th row) and make it even worse once in a while by degrading key travel.

Lenovo is a huge disappointment. Thanks for better screens, but there are already hundreds of models with good screen but IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO BUY A NOTEBOOK WITH A GOOD KEYBOARD NOWADAYS, WHAT THE HELL

Why don't they produce a full keyboard, with the numpad, and add a touchpad as well? That would be really nice and unique.

For six years, Lenovo sold the "ThinkPad Compact Keyboard", the external ThinkPad keyboard with the iconic TrackPoint. Now Lenovo is replacing it – the new ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II is not a big revolution, but rather a small evolution.
