Why CPU performance is so different from the FHD sku?

I have what I believe is the same 4k display, only on a Lenovo Chromebook. No big deal. It's a very good display, but I don't prefer it to the full HD display on my HP x360 24 Chromebook. Not worth spending a few hundred extra dollars.

Is it worth spending a few extra Benjamims for the 4K display over the cheaper FHD option? Aside from a meaurable cut in battery life, the 4K SKU brings both deeper colors and a brighter display.
