I've been using this laptop for 1 month now and I agree 100% with the review. I understand this laptop won't be popular but I have mostly good things to say about it. If you need a 15 inches premium convertible right now and can't wait, buy this one, not the others.

There are three major problems with this laptop, which are sharp edges, soldered ram and (weird) fan noise.
- The very sharp edges are uncomfortable for tablet mode, but otherwise it's ok.
- The fans are quite loud (but I'm used to it and actually prefer it for thermal performance - and the thermal performance is very good), and sometimes they spin up to max even when I'm not using the machine.
- The soldered ram situation makes the unit less desirable. But I understand if it was upgradable, this machine would canibalize the Lenovo-own X1 Extreme.

The pros: Top versality.

Got a question in regards to M2 memory.
Would it make sense to buy something like Samsung Evo 970 Plus 2Tb instead of Intel Optane solution they're offering or is it pretty much the same?

Does this screen is HDR Vesa certified?

I've tested both the 14 inch and the 15 inch model. I'd just like to note that the comments on the lesser case regidity and use of thin materials on the 730 model, apply equally to the 14 inch version of the 740. Only the 15 Inch model got the upgrade in case materials.

No USB-C charging is a big bummer imho. Thx that you reported on this.

Notebookcheck should allways mention if TB3 has 2 or 4 lanes as well.

Laptops have been like this for a while. Thin form factor laptops will almost always be loud. If you want a laptop that doesn't make as much noise, you get a thicker laptop with designed thermal expulsion like Alienware or something that looks like it has jet turbines in the back. If you are on the go with your laptop and want to play games, then of course yes, headphones will be necessary because who wants to play videogames in soundless laptop speakers. If you are at home, you can opt for a gaming console to play these sorts of games. Other than a beefy laptop, a desktop is your best choice.

No USB-C charging according to Lenovo support.

The power brick is huge and the battery is relatively small, which makes the decision to leave Usb-C charging out even more perplexing.

Just a heads up the "Speaker" section of the review has guidelines to testing the speaker instead of the comments on it.

All reviews and info seem to be on the FHD so finding info on the 4k panel is proving difficult! Thanks.
