Those who are wondering about power consumption  without integrated 4g/5g modem, apple iphone always had seperate modem and you know iphone battery consumption is good. So no néed to write such lengthy articles.

Those that will support it, are inferior Chinese brands anyway. Their batteries die in like 6 months, and it'll be nothing but a glorified paperweight.

I was concerned about the competitiveness of Exynos 990 but indeed this is worrying in another manner.
...and the Kirin is largely SD855+, ok, what a year.

Qualcomm already presented the premium mid-range Snapdragon 765G with integrated X52 5G modem, so the fact that the Snapdragon 865 comes with no integrated 4G/5G modem does not make any sense. Unless Qualcomm wants to increase its profit and force OEMs to buy the SoC + 5G modem combo. Financial issues aside, most 2020 flagships could be plagued with overheating, low battery life and poor 5G connectivity.
