I'm on a Mi 9T, and I'm good with having just 9 if MIUI 11 comes with most of 10's goodies and we actually get Android 11 (or 12) whenever it comes along.

This article is just irrelevant. This is a lowend device while phones like Mi 9T/K20 still are on Android 9 with MIUI11. I can't understand the logic here when you write this article when its a 100$ phone.

MIUI 11 has landed on the Xiaomi Redmi 8, but perhaps not the version for which some people had hoped. The 681 MB update is rolling out globally now, but its file size should hint at what version of Android on which this version of MIUI 11 is based.
