Mine is Xiaomi redmi note 8.
IT is the best mobile at this price
I had purchased it j before corona outbreak , now the price has been hiked.
What I think is considering all other features same except the Camera combinations Xiaomi redmi 9 prime will become a new flagship mobile phone which will make Xiaomi redmi note 8 loose it's position , actually the 13 mp primary lens is sufficient for a regular user who does the photography occasionally and also the front camera with 8 mp lens is also welcome . 128 GB storage is awesome .
So my many best wishes to Xiaomi redmi 9 prime .

In your reviews you keep using the expression "unremarkable" to describe the call quality. In practical English use this term carries a negative connotation, which I think you do not intend to convey.

Regards.

My rating: 3/5. It's a decent phone at a fairly low price, so given that, it's OK.

Good: Good screen, decent speed (not great), uses Android so I can overpower the bloatware, and there's a memory card slot.

Bad: The fingerprint sensor is pretty bad, only works about 10% of the time, and the camera is far from as good as the manufacturer claims. Moving subjects are not well captured, and the sharpness is low for anything but landscape pics.

Uhh... may I know what display is your unit using since Xiaomi is known to use different panel for every IPS display they're using?

to check, go to *#*#6484#*#* and go to Software version.

I left mine just in case : Tianma nt36672a

Contrast rich? Nokia 7 Plus has contrast ratio over 2000:1.
I didn't know that the Nokia 7 Plus costs less than 200€
Could you point us to the specific store?

The Redmi Note 8 is another entry-level Xiaomi smartphone, but one that redefines the quality of displays we expect from sub-€200 (~US$220) devices. The panel is bright, contrast-rich and even suitable for those who are PWM sensitive. The Redmi Note 8 is not all good news though, as our review unit will establish.
