They stumbled around like fools long enough with their ill-conceived folding tablets. Glad they arrived at the proper use of a folding screen. A folding clamshell can adapt to a user's lifestyle, rather than forcing them to carry these silly mini-books weighing around 200 g. Phones as phones, and not PC replacements - what a concept!

At Samsung's developer conference, the Korean colossus showed off a new foldable form factor concept. The concept video showed a foldable display that opened vertically, just like a classic flip phone. This design seems to be gaining traction; if Motorola's rumored RAZR foldable is any metric to go by, clamshell foldables may be the future for flexible display phones.
