Oh my, this is the "rip-off notch", the ones suggesting they had to copy iPX but without the FaceID components so they stuff a camera and a speaker in there and call it a day, it's the ugliest type there is.

As I said at the release of the iPX, Apple at least considered the proportions of the notch with relation to side bezels and everything else on the front surface, that's why it looks weird but not bad, anything larger than a waterdrop notch but significantly smaller than Apple's risks breaking those proportions and end up in the "rip-off notch" territory, an effect somewhat like the uncanny valley.

The upcoming Huawei flagship series is linked to a number of highly unusual design choice via its leaks already. One of them indicates that these phones will come with display notches (again). However, a new image depicting a screen protector allegedly made for the Mate 30 shows a different kind of notch this time around.
