How the hell could it be IPS with such awful viewing angles!? What a yellowish article! MSI calls it "IPS-level", which means color space close to IPS (or 100% sRGB, which is merely 60% of Adobe RGB, a modern standard for HQ displays). In other aspects, it can be anything from AHVA, down to simple TN. In the figure above we see something very similar to cheap AU's MVA.

What are the temperatures in games like?

It's quite surprising that they went from a two fan configuration on the very similar predecessor model (PS42) which had a 1050 Max-Q, to a one fan configuration here for the 1650 Max-Q. One fan configuration with both heatpipes being shared between the CPU and GPU might suffice perhaps for the weaker MX250, but for the 1650? No way.

I have the Prestige 14 now in use for 3 weeks, battery is very underwhelming compared to my 7 year old Samsung Series 7. If not in super Battery Saver Mode it burns through it battery in no time (2 hours in WiFi surfing). With max Battery saving features enabled it´s reaching 3-4 hours max, with a screen too dark to read nicely.
Any one else is having this issue?

I get about 6 hours of WiFi surfing on Linux with regular screen brightness and CPU turboboost enabled. Not great compared to my previous laptop (KabyLake Asus) but bearable.

I think having an ad-blocker or restricting browser to no more than 2 CPU cores can make a big difference here - 6-core CPU will use up the battery in no time if it allowed to run at 100% and, sadly, ads scripts and animations often use as much CPU as they can get.

The version with 1920x1080 display seems to be prelisted on some online retailers for preorder for 1530-1550 Euro including VAT.

What's the release date in the UK/EU? I'm eyeing either this one or the 15" version, granted there's no DPC Latency issues etc.

But the form factor, lightweight and 6core U cpu looks damn enticing

I am really curious how this will perform with undervolting. And with the 1080 screen for better battery life and lower graphics load. Hopefully the 1080 screen will have 100% sRGB and good color accuracy for content creators. It could be the perfect portable work machine I've been searching for all these years. Looking forward to seeing new laptops with comet lake CPUs.

When is the full review coming out?

Eagerly looking forward. Want to buy this laptop but the 50Whr battery (and USB 2.0) are scaring me a little bit.
