Be aware that you should avoid the Lenovo P1 gen 2, also X1E gen2 etc with 4k OLED touch option. Oled panel itself is fine but Lenovo has put a touchlayer on top of the OLED that screw up picture quality big time making a 4k UHD screen look like grainy interlaced 1080p at best.

More info can be found on the Lenovo forum. Search for "Small dots on OLED screen"

Everyone who is planning to do a lot of video conferencing with this notebook - be aware that it has the most shitty camera I have ever seen. Even after configuring it the image is blurry and your image will look super cheap compared to any other device of your collegues. Company paid 2500 euro for my configuration. For this price the camera must be much much better.

The i7-9850H has actually 6 cores, not 4 as mentioned in the article.

I have the former version of this processor in my P52 and it's not bad at all :)

Okay, i received the laptop on last Thursday. The screen definitely gives me a headache when I am on it.
I am thinking i probably need to return it because I can't use it as my productive laptop. sigh, everything else is perfect.

What screen did you purchase?

Did you guys by any chance keep an eye on the GPU's power consumption while running Furmark? I experience a 35W power limit which, when running Furmark on the FHD preset, limits the GPU clock to about 1065MHz.

Got the lenovo for 1100 euros but have a i7-9750h instead of the 9850h. Plus I should note that there is also a p1 gen 2 model avaible that has a quadro T2000 build in.

Nice price!
Do you have any coil whine on your machine?

I also hope it is a bit more expensive. Otherwise if I buy it, my friends who have MacbookPros will think that I am a bum.

What about my question? Is it thinner than the previous year model? If not, then there's absolutely no reason to buy it.

I wonder whether X1 Extreme Gen2 has the same problem.

Why do reviewers keep complaining about under-utilising CPU turbo?
If you draw a CPU performance chart starting from 0 as you should (rather than from 890), a difference between 960 points and 1030 points of other laptops will be laughable. But the difference between 36dB vs 46dB at load is absolutely huge - as in "whisper quiet" vs "lather loud and annoying".

Really glad that companies other than Apple start producing actually convenient to use laptops.

Worse CPU performance? Who cares? Has it got thinner by 2mm at least?

I was about to order one, now I wonder...
Is the CPU problem will be fixed by bios update
I planned to take the 500nits screen but the poor dimming options is a problem
And coil whine is a reason for not buying...

I'll wait for reviewsk from owners..

Lenovo is doing one step after another.
Wrong screens at the top Think Pad series.(T590) Overheating of Extreme and P1 series notebooks.
Lenovo is undermining the reputation it has.
