It's laughable that people are willing to pay 800-1000+ for a small phone that will be redundant in two years, but get angry when cutting edge computing power is being sold for the same price and will last a decade.

$1000 is too much for a console. I think it should be around $450-500.

In all fairness, a Swedish price would include 25% VAT (and for a console there would also be "electronics tax" of ~500 SEK) making the retail price in USD equivalent to $750-799.

For example, most Radeon Rx 5700 XT's retail around 4800 SEK (approx. $505) which is about 25% more than the suggested retail price of $399.

A Swedish online retailer's listing for the Sony PlayStation 5 has been making news recently because of the value stated in the placeholder for the console's price. MediaMarkt has given a figure of 9,999 Swedish krona for the PS5, which equates to around US$1,054 or €946. This has led to new speculation of what the device could end up actually costing.
