"Oh Well".  What a response. That you got this basic fact backwards (and more than once in your story) is abysmal reporting.
Author here. Note that the headline, as it was, was NOT technically incorrect. There are numerous instances in which hardware has been said to "run on" software.

I could easily say "So-and-so phone runs on Android Pie", and I wouldn't be wrong.

Not technically incorrect, yes, but perhaps colloquially off-putting. And that's why the headline has been edited.

Cheers!

This is exactly what I was coming to the comments to write. I was going to say it should be 'Android running on Switch'... or 'Switch running Android'.

I think the author meant "run on Android" as in "run using", as in "my body runs on cheese".

I was about to point out the same thing. The headline is backwards, and apparently the writer does not care. I weep for the death of basic editing in the world of internet news today.

Isn't the title backwards? It's "Android can run on the switch" or "the switch can run Android"

You know what? You're absolutely right. Oh well.

The Nintendo Switch has been extremely receptive to mods so far and the good folks over at XDA-Developers have taken things up a notch with a new release that allows Switch users to flash an Android 8.1 ROM on their consoles.
