Quote from: Danube on April 04, 2023, 19:38:35why would they mix two different arch.like Zen5 cores with Zen4c if there will be with 100% certainity a Zen5c version of efficient core ?

If it was chiplet-based, they could do it to mix a new node like N3 with an older, cheaper node like N4/N5. If it's monolithic, I'm not entirely sure, unless the older core is inherently smaller or something. The Zen 3 CCD was physically larger than Zen 2.

Guess we'll find out once AMD actually starts releasing any hybrid products (like Phoenix 2).

8 big, 8 small, 16 CUs, doubled L3 is about the best you could have hoped for top Strix Point. That would make a nice desktop APU.

Increasing the max DDR5/LPDDR5 memory speeds should be enough for a modest graphics performance increase.

Once the APU with 8+ cores(using RDNA3+ and DDR5), becomes available for laptops and desktops, this will mark the beginning of the end of people buying expensive discrete GPUs(except for the enthusiast or as latter option) for personal computers.

Wasn't cheaper reuse Dragon range zen 4 16cores with 16CU RDNA3+? And use it also as G serie (55-125W tdp)

> AMD launched the "Phoenix-HS" APUs at CES 2023.

Did it? Can we really say they launched it in early January when there's still no Phoenix APU available, on its own or in laptops, in April?

AMD, Intel's antitrust pad, stop feeding consumers breakfast. Where is Zen4 Phoenix, here and now, where are they in stores on April 4th, where are a bunch of business laptops with them? There is nothing! What the hell Zen5, we are not interested in it! Give Zen4 Phoenix!

AMD has been producing paper series of processors for years, and Intel has been selling real...

AMD launched the "Phoenix-HS" APUs at CES 2023. The APUs are based on Zen 4 CPUs and RDNA 3 iGPUs. AMD will follow the Phoenix-HS APUs with the launch of "Strix Point" APUs next year that will combine a Zen 5 CPU and an RDNA 3+ iGPU. Paul from RedGamingTech has now alleged that the CPU and iGPU on Strix Point APUs will pack up to 16 cores and 16 RDNA 3+ Compute Units respectively.
