4G RAM will be part of the next batch they say. Maybe 8G as the next option.

2 GB is plenty if you want to run jt as a firewall/router/server.

They're really handicapping this with just 2GB RAM. Other specs seem quite good, the three ethernet ports would have made it great for a router, though it could use more USB ports to allow it to operate as a NAS and/or printer connection, but the low memory would likely hamper it.

FriendlyELEC has introduced the NanoPi R5S, a single-board computer that it bases on the Rockchip RK3566. The NanoPi R5S also has three Ethernet connections, HDMI 2.0 and space for an NVMe SSD thanks to an M.2 2280 slot.
