The ashtray is bad for your health, as long as you use it as intended. The 3.5mm jack is not.
Another way to look at it is removing the jack is their way to con you out of your money, while car manufacturers are not selling ashtrays separately with a premium.
I'll certainly be sticking with the jack for as long as it's available, not with Samsung, even though I've been a Samsung user for over half a decade.
