First I want to say I am one of the "lucky ones" to receive a laptop - it is not the one I actually ordered. In fact I paid +$500 more for a laptop than the one I actually received! I was forced to accept this offer or wait for something that would never be delivered.

BUT, the CEO, Konstantinos Karatsevidis, assured me he would refund me the difference or replace my laptop with the one I ordered. That has been over a year. My original order for the laptop was in December of 2016. I actually received it in June 2018.

The really awful thing is I believed the articles that were written about the laptop and the company. It is the reason I even purchased one. Shame on the reporters for not doing their homework! They screwed a lot of people with mis-information!!!

So now I send emails to eve via the forum or through the "support" button when it is available via the website. My take on it is they are about to close the company and screw even a greater number of folks who have paid. BTW, my cost was US currency! My best wished go to those folks.

I would suggest everyone read the comments on Reddit. They are harsh to say the least. But of you consider 5% may not be exaggerations, it should raise serious concerns for any investment for a product from this company - ever!!!!!!

I would have been better off buying a Microsoft Surface Pro or an Apple Pro - no exceptions.

My best to all who have posted here. For the PC Mag folks - you have the juice to raise a higher level of concern -  you need to do that - PLEASE!

Do not buy from this company, they do not honour their warranties.. They do not issue refunds, they do not provide repairs.. This company is a ponzi scheme scam.. Spend your money elsewhere...

I've been one of the first supported on crowfunding...
laptop came with serious flaws almost 1 year late but more serious was that only worked for 2 months => hard disk failure..
Have been waiting for a replacement unit for more that 1 year.... Emails are only answer sometimes with promises that will be solved within a few weeks....
ALL LIES ... THEY ARE CRIMINALS AND DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY !!!

I'm so annoyed. >:( I had email after email advising I would receive a replacement, each time they would say it would be 1 month, 2 months, 1 week.... They finally asked me to send back the Eve to them, so I could get a replacement, and I did. Now, they have the Eve, they will not even return my messages to tell me if I will, in fact, get a replacement. I just want to know. I'll have to get a small loan to buy one now. Its been 2 years of rubbish service and disappointment. I will never do a crowdfunded campaign after this horrid experience and will never purchase a single thing from this company ever again. I was very patient for a long time and restrained myself from making a complain anywhere. :-X Not now, I don't care, because they clearly don't care about me. I'm very disappointed and annoyed I took a chance on this company to be sold a terrible product and an even worse service that is full of lies obviously from below comments. All I wanted was honesty, now they are just ignoring me.  >:(

i ordered 2017 January no delivery at the end of the year , requested for a refund and still waiting for that. Now they say that it was an other company and not themselves who sold me the EVE V. And that they are not responsible for that. WOW !

I've had the CEO private message me for months now. He had promised refunds and even told me that half had been sent. But I have received nothing. I have the conversation saved offline as proof to someone who wants to do an investigative story. These guys need to be in jail.

Hi,

I am also one of the guy still waiting his V after 18 month.
Eve V says nothing and gives no feedback at all except some bla bla.
I am really frustrated.
I should have bought a Surface PRO instead !

Thanks for this article.

I paid for Eve Computer in Dec 2017. Still no computer, no refund. Maybe they considered it as a Christmas present of $1200? No real customer service, no support. The worst customer experience ever.  :-\ >:( >:(

Likewise purchased in January of last year. No computer, no refund. Followed up with support multiple times. They have to sell more computers to be able to return my funds. Bank couldn't do a charge back, so I have little recourse. Buyer beware!

Thank you for the coverage!!!! Finally.... somebody is speaking the truth!!!

i am one of the dec 4 flash buyer.
HAVE NOT received my V and decided for refund and still HAVE NOT RECEIVED any refund or status of the refund.

EVE even censored and wipe out all the forums in order to give themselves a clean slate.
They will freeze any account who ask about refund.

Plus, according to the forum, the v is full of problems.... the most notable is the drivers and speaker and usb c.

try check reddit for more info!!

Eve-Tech has just had another flash sale for its Eve V device, with potential customers likely enticed by discounts ranging from US$300 all the way to US$600 for the i7-7Y75 variant. However, there seems to be a growing number of disgruntled buyers venting their frustration online over the company's extreme tardiness in regard to shipping the crowdfunded convertible.
