Maybe Windows 10 crashing is a driver/hardware-related problem. I have a rather old desktop (i3 2120, 8 GB RAM, SSD+HDD, GTX 750 Ti) and Windows 10 runs great on it. Windows 7 also worked well, but I upgraded for the improved security and hardware support.

If you say that Windows 10 is crap, please add some details as well. I know a lot of people who say this only because of the interface - which I must admit that it is very ugly for my taste as well, only that an OS should not be judged by this. After all, there are a lot of methods for avoiding the system's interface/bundled tools. I never used the file manager provided by Microsoft with Windows, for example. There are always a lot of free solutions that get the job done MUCH BETTER (valuable advice: give Multi Commander a try).

Stuck?  i am in W7 because i prefer that to the other Windows that came up.

I had the unfortunate necessity of buying another laptop recently exclusively just for office work, it came with with W10, an HP 15.6" typical so nothing out of ordinary. And the Windows 10 crap keeps crashing. It is almost daily.

When Windows 10 is so crap, it makes sense. Also, it is not like Windows 7 stops working after this year, lol.

Although mainstream support for Windows 7 SP1 ended on January 13, 2015, those still using this operating system have one year of free support and updates ahead. Unfortunately, once the extended support period will end, they have to upgrade, use a system that is no longer secure, or purchase extended security updates.
