Very good question, Spudrow. I will forward it to the one and only Frank Azor, maybe he tells us if and when. ;)

Neither. OG Alienware 15 is bulkier than recent 17" laptops. The brand has always been overpriced and 2018 is no different.
If I were buying a gaming laptop next year, I would get a used i7-8750H, GTX 1070 laptop of reputable brands - MSI and Clevo for around $1k. Why? Because I can.
For portability I would pick up a used Gigabyte Aero, not some overheating Alien tech. Though It does look cool.

In a discussion about the latest Alienware laptop that unfolded on Twitter less than a day ago, Frank Azor highlighted the amazingly low weight of this portable — a detail that many forget about and focus on the notebook's thin design instead — and confirmed that an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080 Max-Q configuration is on its way.
