My i9/32gb/1tb 9570 shipped from china to uk yesterday - ordered on 16/05/18 - was marked for delivery on 06/05/18 but depending on how long it takes to get from china it should be well before then. 8)

Quote from: Codrut Nistor on May 17, 2018, 13:33:06I think that Dell only listed the i9 now in the base config page as it is finally available straight away. Until now, it wasn't even available as an option for the existing configurations right away. Probably that's the whole catch.
I meant it was not possible to pick it in the base config page/was not shown there. I mean in this page - http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/xps-15/spd/xps-15-9570-laptop - when you scroll down and click "See more options" in the Processor field.
You're right, they now added the base config containing the i9. But I'm not sure what you mean by "it wasn't even available as an option for the existing configurations right away". If you mean it hasn't been possible to add to the base config and order, you're wrong. That was my whole point. It has been there, all this whole time. If you mean they haven't been able to deliver it before this, you might be right.

Quote from: Codrut Nistor on May 16, 2018, 15:51:21I wasn't this morning. In the meantime, it has been added to Dell.com.

I cannot say about this morning, but I have definitely seen it many days earlier in the available configuration options.

Please note the words configuration options. The base config indeed has the i7-8750H, but on the configuration page you've already for long been able to switch it to the i9-8950HK, for a price of $350, on the most expensive model.

Erm... no one cares? Who would be stupid enough to fall for Intels scam overpriced i9s!? Hello? Especially in a LAPTOP!? They make ZERO sense.

This is not accurate. The CPU is available as stated in one of the comments. I ordered early May (fully loaded) and the delivery is tomorrow.
Were you able to add the processor option by yourself from Dell.com, or you had to contact the support to change the setup?

I believe you're in error here. The XPS 15 9570 has been from the start configurable with the i9-9850HK on the Dell.com, albeit only on the high-end Touch model. Unfortunately the forum software doesn't allow me to post a direct link, but just go and see the 9570 model with the price $2,549.99.
