If only it would come to Europe.

I don't get why manufactures don't release a true iPhone competitor. iPhone 7 (and not the Plus!) is the best selling smartphone worldwide, yet on the Android camp there is only one direct competitor, XZ1 Compact, just released and pretty weak offering I would say.

All the others manufacturers have zero similar-sized phones that are comparable to iPhone 7/8 in terms of performance/camera. It's ridiculous!

Finally another compact phone. Sadly might not be available in the West. It's equivalent width to 4.7 in 16:9 (plus a few mm longer) and the body is just 2mm longer in both dimensions compared to the Sony XZ1 Compact which has a 4.6 screen, but the sharp has +30% resolution.

God, that bottom chin is so huge but it still has on screen button. What's wrong with your design decision, Sharp?

I hope this comes to the U.S., or at least has an international version.

The Aquos R Compact is a slightly watered-down version of the Sharp Aquos R that was announced back in April. It is a waterproof 4.9-inch handset powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor that is expected to hit the market in December via Softbank.
