I was really hoping for something interesting here. 16:9 ratio screen is a no buy for me!

Suo.Eno - Unfortunately, everything we have seen so far points to just one "anniversary edition" type device.

SeranAntares - It has been a few years since Apple used 2 visually separate hinges in their design on the Macbook line. The modern versions all use a "strip hinge" type of design. However if you look up some old IBM models from behind Lenovo purchased the brand (such as the X61 mentioned in the article), you will see that IBM used a design that featured two separated hinges. I think this look is meant to be a reference to the old IBM style, rather than to an Apple design

powerslave12r - yea, appears to be a standard clickpad like on Lenovo designs from the last few years.

Helium007 - I think it is because the slim design is what sells to most people. An XPS 13 or Caron X1 look like more premium laptops than a T470. Many of us in the NBC staff prefer the option to upgrade our own RAM or SSD to improve the lifetime of a laptop, but that isn't important to a lot of users. Having something slim and light is more important to a lot of people.

Still hoping that there will be a 15" variant...The non-chicklet keyboard is super awesome. Market is really missing that kind of robust workhorse like this.

Dont understand why in recent years all laptops ( including workstations !!) are so much switching from usability to be thin, nice and luxury design like boxes. And that super-stupid trend with soldered RAM and SSD - Macbook and Surface are still considered to be "Pro" machines... What a joke...

Sadly, they have the trackpad without the trackpad buttons.

I honestly think it's a little ugly considering it's using the god-awful Macbook wannabe hinges and that coloured logo. Besides, isn't the "ThinkPad" coloured logo meant to be IBM? Couldn't they put Lenovo in that colour scheme there with ThinkPad below it?

I hope that it's gonna be a series of options, with this 1 as the lead model. Maybe a Ryzen amongst the 15.6, 14, 13.3 and 12.5 inches array. Although this might also be a tall order, as Lenovo will have to retool the production line to fit the retro design cues across the board and diff sizes.

Loving the old IBM keyboard on a modern device.

An eagle-eyed Reddit user has found an image on Lenovo's website which appears to be the upcoming Retro ThinkPad. The retro ThinkPad is based on the T470 chassis and features a classic IBM-style 7-row keyboard.
