The award for most powerful subnotebook goes to 12.5" HP 2570P. It's the only one that has a socketted CPU that can host a 35W/45W i7-quad CPU. It can also run 2x1TB 9.5mm  RAID-0/1/JBOD HDDs/SSDs. Those features making it a legitimate desktop replacement.  Has an expresscard slot too so can attach say a GTX760 eGPU. The 100Whr 9-cell battery can give all day battery life.

Most of these features not mentioned in the notebookcheck.net review. Wonder why??

It would be used mainly for typing in class, so a long battery and mobility are a must.

The Lenovo Edge E130  NZUAWMB with these specs: ThinkPad Edge E130, 3358 - Core i3 3227U / 1.9 GHz - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB HDD - 11.6" wide 1366 x 768 / HD - Intel HD Graphics 4000 - keyboard: Belgium AZERTY,  is available for 645 euro in Belgium, with 3 year warranty added (otherwise it's 655 euro, see Lenovo Cashback action). would you consider it at that price, or would you opt for something different?

I can get the Samsung ATIV Book 5 NP530U3C-A09BE Azerty for 700 euro, but i don't like how it heats up so easily. However, in this scenario, would it be the better choice or not?
