I like your reviews of ThinkPads, but this one is missing a discussion on the integrated TrackPoint buttons, which is a pretty revolutionary (in a negative sense) move by Lenovo.

Can anyone comment on the performance improvement using the 24 GB mSATA SSD cache... How does this work if an SSD hardrive is installed inplace of the disc drive? thank you

You can add 4 GB or 8 GB to the slot.

Good! I wonder whether I can replace the 4G memory to 8G memory by myself? According to the DisAssembly movie, It can be uninstalled, but the lenovo customer reply that It can't...

So...?

You can have a look at Sony's Vaio Z serie. They have a really nice display (13.4 inch, though).
Macbook would be also a nice alternative. If you don't have that much money, you can try a new Acer R7 with FHD IPS display. (sRGB is 97% covered) (28 mm thick)

Thanks for the fantastic review, as always. This looks like a great machine - but as usual I'm turned off by the screen. I'm still looking for something to upgrade to from my heavily modified T60 which is slowish and heavy (I travel a lot these days) - but it has 1400x1050 IPS display that's critical for my photo editing.

I don't like Samsungs so Series 9 is out of the question and I don't want to jump systems to Retina MBP - so it seems the only thing left for me is a Zenbook Prime? I'd miss the ThinkPad quality and utilitarian feel though, I think...

Any suggestions?

A reimagined T Series. It is the thinnest and lightest ThinkPad T Series model to date, but does it retain the rigidity and longevity of its predecessors? Lenovo is betting big on a new slimmer design and revamped touchpad to attract the attention of Ultrabook customers. Find out in this review if these hardware tweaks have paid off.
