The M4 Mac mini gave owners a cheaper way to upgrade their internal storage after purchase. Apple has now removed that option from the new M6 and M5 Pro models, leaving buyers with expensive factory upgrades or external drives. The new Mac Studio, however, still holds on to its removable storage modules.
