Yes, crazy indeed. At this point an Apple Air should be looked at (tho it doesn't have 64 GB of RAM). AFAIK, a DRAM chip consumes power too and may lead to a shorter battery time. Some of the RAM is used to greatly compensate the missing DRAM chip and, depending on your workload, you are not going to notice the missing DRAM chip.

3000$ for a laptop where its not possible to install a bigger ssd than 2TB because of the f* one 2242 slot.
