This article is a study in how bizarre the Apple bias can get.

Samsung was one of the first major tech companies to make a foldable phone. They are the world leader in the product and have several different form factors. There are others including Google and Huawei. Apple has NO folding product of any kind.

Therefore NO ONE can be Apple's 'rival' since Apple is not in this market. They don't even have a forthcoming product. It's a RUMOUR of a product.

So framing a new Samsung folding phone as a "potential rival" to an Apple folding phone is surreal.

Comparing it to say the Huawei Mate XT, which exists and IS a trifold cell phone would make sense. Even comparing it to other simple folding phones from Huawei or Google would make sense. But no... somehow every fricking tech article has to get an Apple reference in it even when it literally makes no sense at all.

Seriously, get some deprogramming and break out of the Cult of the Walled Garden.

Apple is expected to finally enter the foldable market soon with the so-called iPhone Fold. While official confirmation is likely still almost a year away, Samsung's rumoured alternative has now appeared on GSMA databases with a mysterious 'H8' codename and a model number distinct from recent Galaxy Z Flip or Galaxy Z Fold generations.
