Google has built a prototype satellite in partnership with other companies and sent it into space aboard a SpaceX mission. The satellite carries AI accelerators and is designed to study how they perform under the conditions of space. The question behind the project: Would it be technically and economically viable to move large-scale AI computing capacity into orbit?
