The artificial* limitation for maximum RAM in a ThinkPad T and Ts series is 64 GB, so if the RAM is soldered, but is running at 8000 MT/s, instead of the usual unsoldered 5600 MT/s, then it's not really a problem, unless the RAM goes bad, but how likely that is, is a different question.

* = Maximum RAM amount is artificially limited, because the APUs themselves support up to 256 GB RAM:

E.g. Framework laptops support, afaik, at least 128 GB RAM.

Destroying OLEDs vibrant colors and sharp text by putting a greasy matte layer on top..ew.

If it doesn't have to be 64 GB RAM and Windows, I want to remind you that this exists:

3dmark.com/search - Steel Nomad:
Radeon 860M: 518 (Average score: 406) (the higher score could be due to 8000 MT/s RAM)
MacBook Air 13 2026 M5 8-core: Average score: 939
MacBook Air 15 2026 M5 10-core: Average score: 1065 (still cheaper than this T14s Gen 7)

Quote from: vlado on Yesterday at 17:42:57How you mean that it 'should' be about 300? I am not doubting your statement, I just don't know what you mean. Is your statement based on general ai 7 450 benchmarks? If yes, might limited form factor (thin 14 incher) and its termals limit the performance, I guess.

That s not a thermal limitation, all other cinebench versions single thread scores are within specs,
it s a mistake done by reviewer and this happened often with AMD devices, the Cinebench R15 ST score
is abnormaly low, yet all other Cinebench ST scores, like R23 and 2024, are accurate in all those faulty reviews,a 220 pts score amount to about 3.7GHz in the single thread test.

Yesssss! Finally somebody is mentioning high standby consumption. And big plus for info about soldered RAM in minus section.

I noticed that a lot of AMD laptops test display a fake Cinebench R15 single thread score,
and this one does not make exception, the 220 pts score is fake since it should score about
300 pts, this never happened with Intel devices, since the score is 37% below what it should
be this has an influence in the perf rating of the laptop.

The new ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 is a premium 14-inch business laptop and Lenovo equipped it with a completely redesigned and lighter chassis. Our review unit features AMD's Ryzen AI 7 PRO 450 CPU, 64 GB RAM and a matte IPS-touchscreen.
