I have a Surface 8 and although it is a pretty nice piece of hardware it is underpowered and very short on storage. I don't know why Microsoft equips the basic models with just 16gb of memory. That isn't enough. And the storage at 256gb is also totally inadequate for even minimal uses. Windows alone takes up 45gb!
The biggest drawback for surface pro laptops is the detachable keyboard, that tends to fail very often. I had to buy 3 keyboards in 3 years. Even the surface pro bluetooth keyboard has to power from the laptop and again if it fails, the very expensive bluetooth keyboard will be of no use. Only reason why I will not be upgrading to surface pro 12.
Microsoft has released a new Surface Pro powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 platform. Also equipped with up to 64 GB of RAM and a 120 Hz OLED display, the Surface Pro 12 is said to deliver 15% longer battery life than the older Surface Pro 11, too.
