ModRetro's M64 is a new FPGA-based Nintendo 64 console built around AMD's Artix UltraScale+ FPGA, aiming to reproduce original cartridge hardware behavior with tighter timing, input response, and accuracy than conventional emulation. Launching July 28, 2026, the system will start at $199 for early backers, alongside a $90 Bluetooth Pro Controller and a lineup of new N64-compatible titles.
