An independent developer has released an open-source project called Goose that pulls health data from Whoop fitness trackers without an active subscription, using Bluetooth interception and a local-first architecture to keep data entirely on-device. The pre-alpha proof of concept, currently iOS-only and limited to Whoop 5.0, signals growing consumer pushback against biometric data being locked behind mandatory monthly paywalls.
