If Apple is really planning to expand Wallet functionality beyond payments, this could be one of the most useful iPhone features in years. Digital IDs, hotel keys, tickets, car keys, and other credentials are already moving into Apple Wallet, so it would make sense for Apple to push even further toward replacing the physical wallet altogether.

That said, I'm curious about the practical details. New Wallet features often depend on support from governments, banks, airlines, hotels, and other third parties. The technology may be ready, but adoption can take much longer.
