Yes, this indeed 'help' sell EVs. But the trend was already going upwards after the lull that was caused by US phasing out subsidies and everyone buying EVs before that.

EVs drive better.  Incredibly fast acceleration and deceleration over traditional ICE cars.  That's where it matters, the driver experience.
