Kudos to Leica for finding a segment of collectors that are willing to invest in this type of collectibles. I cannot avoid feeling a bit sad thinking how this almost perfect mechanical cameras will never shot a picture and probably will be kept boxed forever hoping for an increase in value.
The Leica M-A rangefinder camera is being reissued as a strictly limited version with a hammertone finish. This finish gives the 35 mm camera, which has no battery at all, a particularly eye-catching look, but the camera is only available in Japan.
