Quoteeven a threefold speed increase
This sums it up nicely:
Quote from: reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1sq0aw7/comment/ohefzevNo its separate thing, this is just faster RestirPT algorithm that no game currently uses because its too heavy and this new enchanced algo will probably make it viable to use in games (simply its much better "PT" in terms of quality than current games have). RTX 60xx series will have +-2x performance increase in RT/PT calculations in pipeline purely by HW advancements. (that doesnt mean 2x fps because not entire pipeline is PT calculations only, games with enabled PT still use lot of raster perf)
PS: The 2x perf in PT would be nice.

With ReSTIR PT Enhanced, Nvidia has introduced a new technique aimed at making path tracing in games significantly more efficient. According to the accompanying research paper, performance gains of up to 2.74× are possible, while visual artifacts are reduced and overall stability is improved. The announcement has already generated considerable excitement in the community, although it remains unclear when and in which games the technology will actually be used.
