I mean, I know panther lake is slower but when you look at frame gen off the difference in minimum FPS 1% FPS lows isn't as big as when on. It's like off only 25% slower and on... 2x as slow... Just doesn't add up to me.

Yeah with frame generation, 1% lows can be misleading because they often include generated frames.
The real performance still comes from the base framerate, you know FG tends to amplify differences when the base FPS is lower or less stable, which is why the gap looks much bigger.

It can't magically boost your 1% lows. Those are defined by your real frames, not the generated ones.

There is no universe in which frame gen would ever be required for Counterstrike. The system requirements for CS are as low as feasibly possible to maximise engagement. Valorant is a better example.

It depends on your base framerate.
When your base FPS is already low, Frame Generation just adds more fake frames and doesn't really reduce latency but keeps it pretty much the same.

FG has always been a tool for mid-to-high-end GPUs. It was never meant to magically turn a weak PC into a high-performance machine.

What did you expect...
The higher your base framerate, the lower your latency.

That's literally the entire point of the tech. But frame generation has mostly been driven by gamers' own insane obsession with framerate.

Maybe just stop demanding stupid levels of FPS. Remember when 60FPS was cool? Now you have people buying 144hz monitors then upgrading to 240 then 360 the complain they can't get native 4K graphics.
