Quote from: anan on Today at 09:30:35The sad part is - all of this demand for data-center hardware will tapper out at some point. But the resulting overcapacity might not help regular consumers. Since they will likely  have a bunch of enterprise grade hardware and manufacturing lines. That will not be offloaded onto a consumer market that easily.

It all depends on price, HBM was used in consumer gpus before, since it has mostly been in enterprise because there is more profit margins there.

If this bubble bursts and there is an oversupply, we may see HBM in consumer hardware to offload their stock.

LOL. He really believes that the silly justifications he offered redeem the damage they made to the memory market? LOL
Before I make a decision whether to buy a laptop, I will first check whether the laptop is Micron-free.

In a recent interview, a VP at Micron has shed light on the company's decision of withdrawing from the consumer storage and memory market by pulling the plug on its Crucial brand. While the AI gold rush is undeniably lucrative for large companies, it appears that the average consumer is getting hammered in the process.
