I tried to make a statement by buying one of those smart watches in AliExpress and the results were so bad that I returned the watch even if the reason I purchased them for namely the offline maps were somehow functioning, although that's a very long way until it becomes practical. What didn't function? Everything else. The heart rate sensor the compass the altimeter and many of the other so-called smart functions none operated properly making this watch unusable in the field.
A new and affordable smartwatch sports offline maps and doesn't cost a fortune. The wearable can reportedly be used while swimming and offers a fairly comprehensive array of sensors alongside the usual GPS module.
