Hello, This will be a welcome return, much missed. By the way, I notice your website has the wrong flag for the English language, the stars and stripes is not the flag of the English, it could be considered slightly offensive.

Yeah, an unfortunate consequence of running Android. Back in the day, players ran a dedicated firmware "OS" (if you could call it that) that was only intended for playback, so they could get away with minimal hardware and everything remained fluid. Current Android players on the other hand are basically smartphones without calls/modem, and they need a lot of processing power just to keep the bloated general-purpose OS running. It makes for poor and inefficient devices, in my opinion, but it is probably convenient for the manufacturers. Only actual user advantage I see is the ability to install music streaming apps.

are you completely gone bonkers??
The A306 is woefully underpowered in my opinion - slow to boot, menu lags, audio choppy sometimes when UI is active. I'd be happy to see a more adequately powered player, the geekbench scores are welcome - hopefully Sony has thought through this new player a bit better than before.

An early sighting of Sony's next Walkman digital audio player points to significant changes from the NW-A306 and NW-ZX707. From software to hardware upgrades, it looks like the launch of the Sony Walkman NW-ZX900 series could finally be on the horizon.
