IMHO: Considering the genre has be done to death, what exactly can a new release bring to the table? Generally the #1 difference in releases is simply "new maps" & minor tweaks to the rest of the game.

Other than being a "cash cow" that the studio "milks" fans with repeated releases, I'd drop the continual releases of these games with the nearly annul "Skyrim" release. LOL!

Maybe if they ACTUALLY had a single player campaign worthy of a single player offline title that could be played by itself the "game release" might be valued as more than merely a thin client for an online experience.

Gamers may no longer see rapid-fire releases for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare. In the wake of disappointing Black Ops 7 sales, Activision will now stagger release dates for its shooter games. It has also scheduled a free trial of the latest Black Ops experience for next week.
