The photo captioned as "Lonnie Johnson" is not him. Whether this act of discrimination is explicit racism or lazy ignorance is inconsequential to the end result.

While he doesn't have a media kit on his website, there is contact information so you should be able to get a correct photo. His website is literally his name dot com.

even i know inventor of supersoaker was black, he's very famous, but instead you AI slopped in a generic white gepetto looking character. just embarrassingly low effort

That AI picture in the article is an aberration... You could have at least looked for a photo of the inventor mentioned in the article.
